Wireless Priority Service (WPS) is available in SouthernLINC’s 127,000-square-mile coverage area encompassing Georgia, Alabama, southeast Mississippi, and northwest Florida. SouthernLINC uses iDEN technology.

Service Requests

WPS is requested for SouthernLINC users through the on-line GETS-WPS Information Delivery Service (G-WIDS). See the Program Information section on how to obtain a Point of Contact (POC) User ID and password to access G-WIDS. The following information is needed to complete the on-line WPS service request for SouthernLINC users:

• Each User’s 10 Digit Cellular Telephone Number
• The appropriate SouthernLINC Account Number. Accounts may have one or more users. WPS charges will appear on this account.

Upon service activation an email is sent to the POC and user advising that WPS has been activated. Users should make a WPS test call when they are notified of service activation. If the user is unable to complete the test call they should call the user assistance number, located on the back of the GETS card. That number is 1-800-818-4387 or 1-703-818-4387.
