Class Description

CLASS FORMAT:

PubMed for Librarians is made up of five one-hour segments. These five segments will be presented via Adobe Connect and recorded for archival access.

Each segment is meant to be a stand-alone module designed for each user to determine how many and in what sequence they attend.

The segments are designed to take one hour each and, if the live session is attended, along with any pre-requisite work completed, will earn one MLA Continuing Education hour.

PUBMED FOR LIBRARIANS: MeSH DESCRIPTION:

This is a synchronous online session that includes hands-on exercises. Attend this class to learn about the National Library of Medicine’s Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) database. We will talk about the 4 different types of MeSH terms and how searchers can benefit from using MesH to build a search. We will investigate the structure of the MeSH database and we’ll look at the components of a MeSH record.

Prerequisite: Familiarity with PubMed
