Class Description

CLASS FORMAT:

PubMed for Librarians is made up of five one-hour segments. These five segments will be presented via Adobe Connect and recorded for archival access.

Each segment is meant to be a stand-alone module designed for each user to determine how many and in what sequence they attend.

The segments are designed to take one hour each and, if the live session is attended, along with any pre-requisite work completed, will earn one MLA Continuing Education hour.

PUBMED FOR LIBRARIANS: BUILDING AND REFINING YOUR SEARCH DESCRIPTION:

This is a synchronous online session that includes hands-on exercises. The class will focus on using some of the tools and features built into PubMed that are designed to help you search more effectively. We will explore the new Filters Sidebar and topic-specific subsets. We will use History, the NLM catalog and the Index to build searches and explore topics.
