Date: 02/01/2013 Description: Celebrating Black History Month 2013: Monique Brockenborough - State Dept Image

Monique T. Brockenborough has been with the Department of State, Washington Passport Agency for almost 16 years. She started her career at the agency under the Cooperative Education Program. In 1999, she graduated from Bowie State University with a bachelor degree in business administration with a minor in business management. Since her college graduation, Monique’s career has really flourished. She has worked in almost every position at the Washington Passport Agency, from processing clerk to her current position as the fraud program manager.

Mrs. Brockenborough is joyfully raising a family. Monique grew up in a family of strong values and moral ethics. Her mother was a retired State Department employee who lost her battle to pancreatic cancer in February 2009. Since the passing of her mother, Monique continues to raise her children and build her career on some of the same love, faith, and other principles her mother instilled in her. Monique Brockenborough is not only driven by her mother’s memory, but also by her favorite motto, “Failure is not an option!”
