Objectives

This study was an ancillary study to the longitudinal observational study, the Coronary Artery Risk Development in Young Adults (CARDIA) Study. The objective of this ancillary study was to determine the role of hemostatic factors (e.g., factor VII, factor VIII, fibrinogen, von Willebrand factor) in the development of cardiovascular risk factors and subclinical atherosclerosis. Included in this ancillary study were participants from 2 of the 4 CARDIA Field Centers.
