NEI Hosts University of Philippines Chancellor

On March 29, 2012, NEI director, Dr. Paul Sieving and senior management hosted Dr. Manuel Agulto, Chancellor of the University of Philippines in Manila. Dr. Agulto also leads National Institutes of Health of the Philippines and is the only ophthalmologist to lead a major university campus in the world. He discussed several possible collaborations with the NEI in various areas of eye diseases, including population based studies to understand the genetic basis of the eye diseases, and training programs.
