We are currently seeking a Health/Scientific Policy Analyst to work with the National Institutes of Health in Rockville, MD.

TASKS/SERVICES:

The contractor shall:
(1) Perform research and analyses in support of strategic planning, programmatic and reporting activities related to autism spectrum disorders.
(2) Participate in all phases of strategic plan development, including researching, conducting gap analysis, organizing, editing and planning documents.
(3) Develop, implement and work with staff to oversee project plans with milestones and timelines for phases of the strategic planning process, summary of advances and major initiatives of the office.
(4) Develop and maintain liaison relationships with strategic planning personnel of NIMH, NIH, HHS, government-wide program scientists, and stakeholders, including patient advocacy organizations.
(5) Analyze research literature and public information; prepare technical reports related to strategic planning for autism spectrum disorders.
(6) Draft white papers and results of literature analyses and/or other research to inform decision-makers; prepare and edit briefing documents and technical reports responding to public, Congressional, Department or Inter-Agency requests on scientific topics pertaining to the autism research.
(7) Communicate scientific/medical and related policy information in writing and orally in a manner that can be understood by readers with non-science backgrounds.
(8) Track and analyze autism-related legislation.
(9) Review reports and planning documents for other agencies and organizations to ascertain relevance to the autism research portfolio.
(10) Respond to controlled and uncontrolled correspondence requests; provide appropriate information to members of the public, Congress, advocacy groups and government officials about OARC and IACC activities.
(11) Work with staff on the planning and implementation of Inter-Agency meetings and scientific workshops related to autism spectrum disorders.
(12) Work with staff on the preparation of materials to meet Federal Advisory Committee Act requirements.

REQUIREMENTS:

The contractor ideally would have:
(1) Ph. D. in health science-related field or an allied health degree.
(2) Minimum of seven (7) years related experience with evidence of science policy analytic experience
(3) Excellent writing skills
(4) Project planning and management skills
(5) Strong communication skills, both oral and written
(6) Excellent organizational and time management skills
