Glycosylation of Therapeutic Proteins

A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the Division of Therapeutic Proteins of the Food and Drug Administration. The Fellow will join a multi-disciplinary team to study the formation and biological impact of post-translational modifications introduced into therapeutic proteins during the biosynthetic and purification processes. The project will focus on protein glycosylation and will aim to assess the impact on product safety and bioactivity, particularly as it relates to the evaluation of biosimilar protein products. The goal is to identify or develop analytical tools that can be used to better assess the quality of therapeutic proteins.

A Ph.D. and/or M.S. and experience in molecular biology and protein biochemistry are required. Excellent oral and written English skills and hands-on research experience are required, particularly with protein analytical characterization using mass spectrometry to study protein glycosylation and other modifications. The salary will be commensurate with experience.

The laboratory is located on the main campus of National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD, with access to its library, seminars, and core facilities.
