Medulloblastoma Cancer Research in Switzerland

Department of Biomedicine, University of Basel, Switzerland, Basel, Switzerland, Non-U.S.

A postdoctoral position (funded by OncoSuisse) is available immediately in the group of Prof. Rolf Zeller at the Department of Biomedicine (University of Basel, Switzerland). The successful applicant will study the alterations in the signaling networks underlying medulloblastoma development with the aim to assess signal modulators and antagonists as potential novel targets for therapeutic intervention. Medulloblastomas are amongst the most frequent and aggressive childhood brain tumors and the project will take advantage of mouse genetic models in combination with novel cellular approaches to gain insights into the molecular alterations that underlie the malignant diversion of neuronal precursor during postnatal cerebellar development in mice.

Applicants must hold a PhD with expertise in molecular cancer research using mouse models and published at least one first author paper. The successful applicant must enjoy research in an internationally competitive research team at the interphase of developmental biology and cancer research. The host institute offers state-of-the art research facilities in a dynamic research environment with excellent groups active in cancer and neurobiological research. The working language is English and the city of Basel is known for its high standard of living.
