Grant Funding Opportunity


The Council for Economic Education announced a new subgrant competition funded by the United States Department of Education’s Office of Innovation and Improvement's Excellence in Economic Education (EEE) Program. The purpose of the EEE program is to promote economic and financial literacy among students in kindergarten through grade 12. Eligible applicants for this subgrant competition are any state education agency, local education agency, or state or local economic, personal finance, or entrepreneurial education organization that works with K-12 students. Eligible entities can apply for funding in the following subgrant categories: Teacher Training Programs, School-based Student Activities, Replication of Best Practices, Distribution of Curriculum and Teaching Materials, Evaluations of Impact of Economic and Financial Literacy Education Research, and Economic and Financial Literacy Research.

This edition of Community Developments Investments, a publication authored by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, is dedicated to national initiatives encouraging bank participation in financial literacy efforts.  Articles featured in the publication identify programs (America Saves, Bank on Cities, the Department of Treasury’s Community Financial Access Pilot, and Operation Hope) targeted at the unbanked and underserved markets that promote effective money management through partnerships with banks.
