Peace Corps suspended its volunteer activities in Honduras in September 2012.

More than 5,750 Peace Corps volunteers have served in Honduras since the program was established in 1963. Volunteers work in the areas of community economic development, food security, health and youth development. Volunteers are trained and work in Spanish.
