Texas
The Texas Partnership for Family Recovery established as their overall goal: to build a sustainable, family focused, integrated Behavioral Health service system that will strengthen, stabilize & unify families involved with the child welfare system. The following products were developed to assist the Partnership in achieving that goal:
Practice Guidelines - that provides minimum standards with very specific guidance, by system, for managers and front-line staff.
Evaluation, Sustainability and Communication Plans – to market and measure the project’s impact and support institutionalization of the initiative.
Memorandum of Understanding (PDF - 29 KB) - A partnership agreement was signed by all parties.
Cross-system Training Plan draft - Completed the preliminary work to design strategies to strengthen, enhance and improve legal, judicial, child welfare and substance abuse professional training, as well as training and educational resources provided to families and caregivers.
Texas focused consistently on the need to develop standardized data sets to support evaluation efforts, which will serve them well as they move into actual implementation. They also placed high emphasis on obtaining executive/department level buy in and completing a fiscal plan as they move forward with implementation.
