NCI Cancer Diagnosis Program
The Cancer Diagnosis Program (CDP) strives to improve the diagnosis and assessment of cancer by effectively moving new scientific knowledge into clinical practice. This national program stimulates, co-ordinates and funds resources and research on diagnostics and improved technologies to better characterize cancers to guide the choice of treatment as well as to evaluate the response to treatment.
NCI PDQ (Physician Data Query)
PDQ is NCI's comprehensive cancer database. PDQ contains summaries on a wide range of cancer topics; a registry of more than 8,000 open and more than 19,000 closed cancer clinical trials worldwide; and a directory of professionals who provide genetics services. PDQ also contains the NCI Dictionary of Cancer Terms, with definitions for more than 6,000 cancer and medical terms, and the NCI Drug Dictionary, which has information on more than 1,200 agents used in the treatment of cancer or cancer-related conditions.
