WISER for iOS 3.0 released
July 1, 2012
WISER for iOS 3.0, a universal app for Apple iOS devices, is now available. This new release adds native support for the iPad in addition to support for the iPhone and iPod touch. Take a look at these new features: Don't forget that all these features remain for iPhone and iPod touch. See the features for these devices introduced in our 1.0 and 2.0 releases.
WISER for iPhone/iPod touch 2.0 released
March 1, 2012
WISER for iPhone/iPod touch 2.0 is now available.
  • WISER's popular Help Identify Chemical capability is now available on the iOS platform. Identify and validate an unknown chemical based on the following criteria:
    • physical properties of the substance gathered by observation or sensors
    • signs and symptoms of victims of exposure
    • the ability to categorize a substance, such as a substance used in a meth lab or a flammable substance
    • hazard values from NFPA 704 placards
    • transportation identification, including DOT placards, type of road trailer, and type of rail car
  • Use WISER's protective distance mapping feature on your iPhone or iPod touch. Visualize the areas likely to be affected during the first 30 minutes after a substance is spilled or released on a live map. The Department of Transportation's Emergency Response Guidebook is the source of WISER's protective distance data.

Version 4.4 Released
March 8, 2011

Take a quick look at the most significant changes we've made to WISER in our 4.4 release:

  • WISER for Windows rolls out a new, interactive Chemical Reactivity capability
  • 19 new substances introduced, including substances in the news such as Crude Oil, Corexit 9500, and Corexit 9527
  • All WISER platforms include data updates based on the latest Hazardous Substances Data Bank (HSDB), Radiation Event Medical Management (REMM), Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy (CIDRAP) for biological agents, and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Acute Exposure Guideline Levels (EPA AEGLs) content.
  • Many miscellaneous usability improvements and fixes

WISER is now available for BlackBerry devices. New features in this release:

  • Quick online access to WISER's full database of chemical, biological, and radiological substances.
  • Easy access to WISER's Help Identify capability.

Note: This release requires connectivity to the internet either through your mobile phone carrier or Wi-Fi.
