Exhibitions appear by order of opening date within a year. To view exhibition descriptions in chronological order:

Click on year
Click on title to open description
Click on next at page bottom

Search by Keyword
Significant words in the compendium are indexed and can be searched. Accent marks are not required.

Searches for distinctive words or proper nouns are most likely to be successful.

Examples:

Queen Elizabeth II or queen elizabeth II
Shelburne or shelburne

Searches for terms describing art movements, schools, or media may be partially successful depending on whether the word is used in the exhibition description. Try variant forms of a term or synonyms for most comprehensive returns.

Examples:

Impressionist or Impressionism or impressionism
Chinese or China
brass or metal

Searches for a concept that is not part of the exhibition description will be unsuccessful.
