Etchings by Rembrandt
Overview: 76 of the finest impressions of etchings by Rembrandt van Rijn in the Gallery's collection were on view. The exhibition also demonstrated the working methods of the artist, as well as the treatment of his plates and his use of different inks and papers to alter the appearance of each impression. On loan were 4 original copper plates from the estate of Robert Lee Humber, Greenville, North Carolina. The exhibition was organized by Christopher White, curator of graphic arts.
