File a Tip or Complaint

The Commission relies on the public as an important source of information in carrying out its regulatory and enforcement responsibilities. If you have information about a violation of the Commodity Exchange Act or Commission regulations, you may either file a tip or complaint under our whistleblower program, or report such violations or other suspicious activities or transactions to our Division of Enforcement. Persons with customer complaints about a futures industry professional may also file a complaint under our Reparations Program.

WHISTLEBLOWER PROGRAM

The CFTC’s whistleblower program allows for the payment of monetary awards to eligible whistleblowers.  Also, whistleblowers who share information with or assist the CFTC may be eligible for anti-retaliation protections under the Commodity Exchange Act.  Learn more about becoming a whistleblower by visiting our Whistleblower Program webpage.

DIVISION OF ENFORCEMENT

The CFTC's Division of Enforcement investigates and prosecutes alleged violations of the Commodity Exchange Act and Commission regulations. REPARATIONS PROGRAM

The CFTC's Reparations program provides an inexpensive, impartial, and efficient forum for customer complaints against futures industry professionals for alleged violations of the Commodity Exchange Act. Customers may bring complaints against futures industry professionals registered with the CFTC at the time of the alleged wrongdoing or registered with the CFTC at the time the complaint is filed. Reparations cases are decided by a CFTC Judgment Officer. Part 12 of CFTC's regulations, 17 CFR 12, contains rules relating to Reparations.
