CID Deputy Commander

COL ChmuraColonel Timothy J. Chmura

Colonel Chmura was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and enlisted in the Army in 1976. Upon completion of a four year enlistment he attended and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in May of 1984.  He re-entered the Army in 1985 and subsequently received his commission in the Military Police Corps as a Second Lieutenant through the OCS program in 1987.

His assignments include Team and Squad Leader, 260th MP Company, 728th MP Battalion, Republic of Korea; Commander, Schofield Barracks MP Company, 25th Infantry Division (L), Schofield Barracks, Hawaii;  Small Group Leader, Fort McClellan; Alabama;  Lieutenants and Captains Assignments Officer, Unites States Army Personnel Command, Alexandria, Virginia;  Commander, Protective Services Unit, 701st MP GRP, USACIDC, Fort Belvoir, VA; Provost Marshal, 3rd US Army, United States Army Central Command, Camp Doha Kuwait;  S3 and XO, 759th MP Battalion, Fort Carson, Colorado;  SGS, 7th Infantry Division (L) Fort Carson, Colorado;  Personnel Systems Staff Officer, DCofS, G-1, Pentagon;  Commander, Washington Battalion (CID), Ft Myer, VA;  Director, Borders and Ports, Civilian Police Assistance Training Team (CPATT), Multi-National Security Transition Command, Baghdad, Iraq; Army Planner, HQDA, Office of the Joint and Defense Affairs, Office of the Chief of Staff, Army, Commander, 701st MP GP (CID) and currently the Deputy Commander, USACIDC.

His military education includes the MP Officer Basic Course, MP Officer Advanced Course, Combined Arms Services Staff School, Command and General Staff College, and National War College.

His awards and decorations include the, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (4OLC), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (2OLC), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal (2OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (2OLC), Parachutist Badge, Air Assault badge, OSD badge, Army Staff Badge and the Combat Action Badge.
