EdUSA @usembassymaseru guides talented and determined students through the admissions process for colleges and universities in the United States. Selected students will attend regular seminars that will assist them through the application process. Students will work with our educational advising staff over this year and the next year to try to secure admission and financial assistance to begin study in the United States in August 2013.

Please note that entrance into this program provides no guarantee of admittance to a university or financial assistance to study in the United States. Additionally, Embassy Maseru does not provide financial support in the admissions process. Students must understand and be prepared to pay for the costs of the application process, which include but are not limited to:

  • Registration fees for required SAT and TOEFL examinations
  • College application fees
  • Transportation and accommodation costs to travel to Johannesburg for the TOEFL exam

With this in mind, students admitted to the EdUSA program must be prepared to dedicate their time and energy to the program. With the right commitment, focused determination, hard work, and support from the EdUSA advising staff, you can be successful in your dreams of pursuing higher education in the U.S.

To apply, you must currently be a determined and hardworking student. Ideal candidates demonstrate:

  • Strong academic record
  • Evidence of leadership
  • Service to community and school
  • Outstanding character

The application process is as follows:

  • Submit your completed written application by February 15
