Third-Party Testing Laboratory Accreditation

All manufacturers and importers of children’s products must certify in a Children’s Product Certificate that their children’s products comply with all applicable children’s product safety rules.

 

Third-party testing means testing performed by a third-party accredited laboratory that CPSC has accepted to perform the specific tests for each children’s product safety rule. The Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA)

The CPSIA of 2008 authorized a variety of new regulations and testing requirements for children’s products and some non-children’s products. If you are a manufacturer, importer, distributor, or retailer of consumer goods, all of your products must comply with the CPSIA and other laws enforced by the CPSC.
