The Corporation for National and Community Service makes every effort to make information accessible to people with disabilities and comply with the Federal Information Technology Accessibility Initiative, Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act Amendments of 1998. Here are some of the ways in which The National Service-Learning Clearinghouse website is accessible to people with physical disabilities:
- All sections are viewable using non-graphical Web browsers, with the possible exception of some PDF and/or RTF documents.
- We remediated all of our downloadable documents to ensure their accessibility per Section 508 and WCAG Level II guidelines. These include PDF, MS Word, and MS Excel documents.
- All images are annotated with descriptive text, which can be read by certain assistive software products.
- Free Adobe Acrobat Readers for PDF files are available to all users. Users are encouraged to use the latest version of the Adobe Reader. Visit the Adobe site.
- Alternative content has been provided for multimedia files, and videos have been captioned and transcribed.
