Animals: Dragonflies
- Dragonfly eggs are deposited on surface of water and drift to bottom.
- Dragonflies eat mosquitoes and small insects.
- Dragonflies do not sting or bite humans.
Dragonflies are large and heavy-bodied insects. They usually hold their wings open and mostly flat when perched on plants. They are strong fliers and some even migrate. Dragonflies are found in slower-moving streams and in ponds.
Dragonflies have three main stages of development: egg, nymph, and adult. The nymphs resemble the adults closely, except for wings.
