What kind of camera is she holding?

    5. Kathy / Analog Soul Photography (18 months ago | reply)

I would make a (fairly educated) guess that it's a Rolleiflex. The shot was probably made with a Rollei also. I actually own one that is probably very similar if not the same as what she's holding ;-)

      seems like rolleiflex

      Nice picture.
Looks like the time on her watch is 2:50.
The little girl on the left is wearing an oversized sweater that has holes in it...

The patch on her left sleeve is a US "civilian patch" as worn by non-combatants in WW II.

      This I like a lot.
      It brings back good memories.
As a boy growing up in London during WW2 - particularly towards the end and soon after - I remember the presence, the warm and friendly presence, of so many American service personnel. Their smart uniforms (as here), their easy manner, their openness, that contrasted greatly with a tired and weary Britain, where bomb sites were our rough adventure playgrounds. In this colourless world of shortage, utility products, clothes coupons, food and sweets rationing, we were fascinated by these young people who appeared in our midst, from a land so exotic - to us - as the USA.
I see all this captured in this photograph.
