Biography

Dr. Zanetti is a Program Director in the Host Susceptibility Factors Branch (HSFB). Her responsibilities include managing a portfolio of grants that includes rare cancers, health disparities associated with cancer, and genome-wide association studies (GWAS). She also represents the Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences on the Trans-NCI Extramural Awareness Group (TEAG).

Prior to joining EGRP, Dr. Zanetti was a Research Fellow in NCI's Laboratory of Human Carcinogenesis (LHC), Center for Cancer Research. Her studies included a Trans-NCI GWAS of lung cancer and smoking phenotypes in African Americans. Dr. Zanetti also explored biological determinants that contribute to cancer health disparities and studied the association of common allele variants with colon cancer risk using the NCI-Maryland Colon Cancer Case-Control Study. Dr. Zanetti first came to NCI as a Cancer Prevention Fellow in LHC.

Dr. Zanetti remains an adjunct scientist in LHC where she continues to work on the GWAS and other health disparities research.
