Beaufort National Cemetery is located in Beaufort County within the city of Beaufort, S.C. The cemetery is best distinguished by its unusual fan-shaped layout and the dense shade offered by majestic trees. Nineteen African-American soldiers from the Massachusetts 55th Infantry Regiment were also reinterred here on Memorial Day 1989.
