Director for Banking Relations

Gregory C. (Greg) Golembe is the Director for Banking Relations in the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).

The Banking Relations Division works directly with financial services industry stakeholders, primarily commercial banks and their representatives, to facilitate an efficient, timely, and constructive exchange of information integral to OCC policy development and implementation.

Mr. Golembe began his financial services career with the OCC in 1974, leaving after three years for the private sector. He spent 14 years as a senior member of two nationally recognized consulting firms, specializing in the financial services industry. At the same time, he served as a director of the International Financial Conference, a not-for-profit educational corporation, consisting of 50 regional bank chief executive officers. Mr. Golembe spent five years with the Conference of State Bank Supervisors, departing in 1995 as a Senior Vice President.

He returned to the OCC in 1999 from GRI Limited, through which Mr. Golembe served the American Association of Bank Directors as Executive Director, worked with other groups as an advisor or consultant, including the Support Group for Modern National Banking, and was a frequent contributor to banking industry trade publications.

Mr. Golembe received his MM (MBA) from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University, and his bachelor of arts in government from Monmouth College in Illinois.
