Kenyon T. Kilber

Senior Advisor to the Comptroller of the Currency

Kenyon T. Kilber is the Senior Advisor to the Comptroller of the Currency.

In this role, Mr. Kilber serves as the Comptroller’s liaison with other senior bank supervision executives to implement major supervision policies, programs, and initiatives. Mr. Kilber is also responsible for planning, organizing, advising, implementing, and directing activities associated with the agency’s strategic goals and objectives.

Prior to joining the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) in April 2012, Mr. Kilber served as the Deputy to the Director (Appointive) of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) Board, advisor to the FDIC Chairman on supervisory matters related to the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council, and member of the FDIC’s Supervisory Appeals Review Committee.

Mr. Kilber began his career with the FDIC in 1990 in the Connecticut Field Office and received his commission in 1993. Beginning in 1998, Mr. Kilber served as an examination specialist in the risk management policy branch in Washington, D.C., where he authored industry guidance, interagency rulemaking, and Congressional testimony, and oversaw the development and maintenance of FDIC risk management examination resources.

Mr. Kilber served as the FDIC’s representative for the administration’s Partnership for Financial Excellence program in the Middle East and North Africa in 2003-2004, and served as a Brookings Institution Legislative Fellow in the office of Senate Banking Committee member Senator Jack Reed in 2006.

Mr. Kilber holds a bachelor of business administration degree in accounting from the University of North Dakota and a master of science degree in management information systems from George Washington University. Mr. Kilber is a graduate of the American Bankers Association Stonier Graduate School of Banking and has served as a capstone advisor since 2002.
