Webinar: Strong Start Amended FOA – How to Generate a Baseline Data Sample

When: Wednesday, July 25, 2012  |  3:00pm - 4:15pm ET

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services recently released an updated Strong Start Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) for providers, states, managed care organizations, and conveners to test the effectiveness of specific enhanced prenatal care approaches to reduce preterm births in women enrolled in Medicaid. Applications are due on August 9th, 2012, by 5:00pm ET.

The CMS Innovation Center will hold a webinar on Wednesday, July 25, 2012, from 3:00-4:15pm ET to provide guidance from experts for entities with limited experience identifying baseline data for comparison to an intervention population where care is changed.

CMS notes that Strong Start applicants are asked to show their capacity to furnish two or more years of baseline data to aid in program evaluation, although they need not provide such data in their application. CMS hopes this webinar will assist prospective applicants and others in understanding baseline data and the potential sources for such data.
