NIMH Image Library

How to Use the NIMH Image Library

The NIMH Image Library is a searchable database of photographs and illustrations that are available, copyright free, to the public at no cost. The Library contains images of general biomedical research and research tools, mental health specific research, and treatment related images. Many images are available in low, medium, and high resolutions.

To get started, please enter one or more search terms in the box on the left. You can also select one or more folders, specify a date range, or choose the image format to narrow your search. Then click SEARCH.

NIMH images may not be used to state or imply the endorsement by NIMH or by an NIMH employee of a commercial product, service, or activity, or use in any other manner that might mislead. No fee is charged for using the images. However, credit must be given to the "National Institute of Mental Health, National Institutes of Health, Department of Health and Human Services" unless otherwise instructed to give credit to the photographer or other source.
