First Gene Therapy Approved by European Regulatory Commission

The European Medicines Agency approved the first gene therapy using an adeno-associated virus vector to treat lipoprotein lipase deficiency (LPLD), a very rare genetic disease. The company is preparing to apply for regulatory approval in other markets, including the U.S. and Canada.
