Mission
The NCIS mission is to investigate and defeat criminal, terrorist, and foreign intelligence threats to the United States Navy and Marine Corps-ashore, afloat, and in cyberspace.
 

 Europe Field Office

The Europe and Africa Field Office is located in Naples, Italy, and provides support to approximately 16,500 military personnel, DoD civilians and their dependents.The field office's area of responsibility stretches through Europe and beyond, including the Balkans, the Mediterranean, Scandinavia, Iceland, the Russian North and Black Sea, Israel, and the African continent (except Egypt).

The Europe Field Office is a full-service field office, and agents stationed there work in a range of functional areas, including general crimes, economic crimes, protective services operations, counterintelligence and counterterrorism investigations and operations, force protection operations, computer investigations and operations, Domestic Violence Units (DVU), and Major Case Response Teams (MCRT).
