The Northwest Field Office (NWFO) is located in the Puget Sound region of western Washington state. The Northwest Field Office's area of responsibility includes Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Alaska and the five western provinces of Canada.
NWFO performs the full range of NCIS mission-essential functions for the commands of Navy Region Northwest – including general crimes, fraud, and cold case investigations, as well as family and sexual violence support. NWFO Agents also provide support to two nuclear aircraft carriers, nine submarines, and a number of other surface ships and aircraft squadrons.
The area possesses one of the highest concentrations of Navy and Marine Corps commands and personnel in the world, with more than 130,000 DoN active duty military members, dependents and civilian employees assigned to ships, squadrons and shore commands.
