Important Changes in Helix/Biowulf Login Procedures (Helix)
Date: 14 March 2012 14:03:15From: Helix Systems Staff (staff@HELIX.NIH.GOV)
This spring the Helix and Biowulf systems staff will transition to using NIH Login for all users. The major benefit is users will only need to remember one username and password for NIH Login, Helix, and Biowulf. For Helix and Biowulf users whose username is identical to their NIH Login username, there will be no changes required to their Helix/Biowulf accounts. These users will just begin using their NIH password to access the systems on the transition day. Users whose Helix/Biowulf username differs from their NIH Login username will be contacted by the Helix staff sometime between March and June of 2012 to begin the process of changing their Helix/Biowulf username to match their NIH username. Because changing your Helix username will affect your Helix email address, the Helix staff will work closely with those users to ensure that this change is as non-disruptive as possible. When all Helix/Biowulf usernames match their NIH username, we will schedule a transition day. From the transition day forward, your NIH Login password will be used to access Helix and Biowulf. Additional information regarding the transition to NIH Login can be found at http://helix.nih.gov/migration_qa.html We will provide more information as the transition to NIH Login draws closer.
