    Generate Invention Assignments Report

 

  1. Select Main Menu | View or Download Reports on iEdison Records to access the Report Menu page.
  2. Select Generate Invention Assignment Report. The Invention Assignments - Current Assignments page is displayed.
  3. Review the report, noting the following:
    • Select the hyperlink on the invention report number to view the selected invention report details. The Modify Invention Report - Invention Report Form page is displayed for the selected invention report.
    • Select the hyperlink on the name of the person the invention is assigned to, to view the selected user's account information. The Modify Account - Update Account Information page is displayed for the selected user.
  Field Definitions
Invention Title

The title reflects the title of the invention as it appears in the Grantee or Contractor organization's employee's invention report.

Invention Report Number (This number will automatically be generated by the iEdison system)

The Invention Report number is automatically generated by the iEdison system for a new Invention Report when the data has been submitted, checked for errors, and verified. Once the Invention Report has been created, the invention Report number cannot be modified by the organization. Reference should be made to the Invention Report number in all correspondence with the awarding agency.

Primary Agency
(Agency this report will be submitted to)

The primary agency is the federal agency that provided the greatest contribution to the invention, as initially determined by the grantee or contractor organization. The grantee or contractor organization is obligated to correspond with the primary agency in relation to any issues that pertain to the disposition of invention rights. If more than one agency has contributed to the subject invention, all participation should be reported under the funding agreements section of the Invention Report.

Invention Docket Number

The invention docket number field is provided for the convenience of iEdison users as a unique identifier to help keep track of the associated Invention Report. Any combination of numbers and letters may be used to define the invention docket number. If an invention docket number is not provided, the iEdison system sets the value equal to the last six digits of the Invention Report number.

Name of Person Invention Assigned To

The name of person invention assigned to field indicates the name of the individual assigned to the invention report.
