Activities

OGE's Office of International Assistance and Governance Initiatives administers the international technical assistance and cooperation program. At the request of foreign policy agencies and entities of the U.S. Government, OGE discusses its role as a corruption prevention organization and shares its ideas and experiences with foreign governments directly and within multilateral processes.

Bilateral Activities

OGE engages in a number of bilateral programs with foreign states each year, again at the request of U.S. Government foreign policy agencies. While some bilateral programs involve site visits, OGE provides much of its assistance digitally, for instance reviewing documents via the Internet and conducting video conferences.

Multilateral Activities

OGE assists other U.S. Government agencies who are responsible for negotiating international anticorruption agreements and organizing international anticorruption conferences. Additionally, OGE plays a role in mechanisms designed to follow-up on implementation of existing international anticorruption agreements, such as those undertaken by the United Nations, the Council of Europe's Groups of States against Corruption (GRECO) and the Organization of American States' Committee of Experts of the Follow-up Mechanism for the Implementation of the Inter-American Convention against Corruption (MESICIC).

Briefings

At the request of foreign policy agencies and entities of the U.S. Government, OGE frequently hosts delegations at its offices. The audiences for these programs are primarily comprised of public officials but oftentimes include business leaders, journalists, leaders of non-governmental organizations, attorneys, academics, and military leaders.
