  Lesson Plans

Lesson Plans: Learn about the Most Recent Census Results

Census of Agriculture lesson plans are excellent resources for educators and help increase student awareness of statistics and agriculture. USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service and the National FFA Organization have developed a new series of K-12 online learning tools and outreach kits to increase statistical literacy in the classroom through the exploration and use of data from the 2007 Census of Agriculture.

To access the materials for free, visit the FFA Learn web site, call 800.727.9540 or order a CD online.

Lesson Plans: Learn about the Most Recent Census Results

To help increase awareness about the Census of Agriculture, NASS partnered with the National FFA Organization to create Ag Census lesson plans. The instructional materials were created by educators to help inform and empower students to play an active role in the Census process. The materials address such topics as what the Census of Agriculture is and how it is used; how surveys are conducted; the rights and responsibilities of completing the Census; and how to fill out the Census form
