Biography

Ms. Anderson is a Communications Consultant for the Epidemiology and Genomics Research Program's (EGRP) Office of the Associate Director (OAD). She provides communications support in preparing and disseminating information to EGRP's audiences.

Ms. Anderson retired from the Federal Government in 2007 as EGRP's Director of Communications. She had 30 years of Federal service within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), with most of the time devoted to working at the National Cancer Institute (NCI). Over the years, she served as an information officer for media relations, science writer-editor, and communications director.

Ms. Anderson authored and co-authored numerous news articles, newsletters, press releases, fact sheets, background documents, reports, and other materials on cancer-related topics. She earned awards for her communications work with the EGRP-funded Long Island Breast Cancer Study Project (LIBCSP) and its Geographic Information System for Breast Cancer Studies on Long IslandExternal Web Site Policy (LI GIS), and on other cancer research activities and initiatives.
