Biography
Allison Cook is an Extramural Support Specialist in the Epidemiology and Genomics Research Program (EGRP). Her responsibilities include providing programmatic and administrative support to EGRP's Clinical and Translational Epidemiology Branch.
Ms. Cook has worked for NIH since 2004. Prior to joining EGRP, she held a position in the Tobacco Control Research Program (TCRB) within the Division of Cancer Control and Population Science's Behavioral Research Program (BRP), where she provided broad administrative support. This included assisting with travel planning, travel authorizations of all types, grants management, large-scale archiving, and other support functions for the Branch. She was also previously responsible for a range of tasks for the Office of the Associate Director in BRP, including high-volume travel support, scheduling, organizing meetings, preparation of small contracts, and other projects as needed.
In her former career as an environmental consultant, she prepared an Environmental Impact Statement for the National Science Foundation's United States Antarctic Program, supervised Environmental Protection Agency contracts in the areas of Global Change and Environmental Hazard Assessment at a consulting firm, and prepared a National Environmental Policy Act guidance manual for the President's Council on Environmental Quality. Prior to that, Ms. Cook worked in California agriculture, including on a diversified farm, and in plant breeding for a seed company.
