Biography

Dr. Ishibe Simonds is a Program Director in the Epidemiology and Genomics Research Program's (EGRP) Clinical and Translational Epidemiology Branch (CTEB). She is responsible for working across all four of EGRP branches and with the Office of the Associate Director on issues related to furthering translational epidemiology to impact public health.

Prior to joining EGRP in 2010, Dr. Ishibe Simonds worked for five years at The National Academies where she guide committees to provide consensus recommendations based on studies on diverse topics, such as nuclear medicine, medical isotope production, adverse health effects of wireless communication devices, and long-term health outcomes following traumatic brain injury.

From 2001-2005, Dr. Ishibe Simonds was an investigator with NCI's intramural Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics (DCEG) where she conducted research on non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in high-risk families, von Hippel-Lindau disease, and familial chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
