President Obama Touts R&D Support in State of the Union Address

President Obama exhorted that, "Now is the time to reach a level of research and development not seen since the height of the Space Race." He added that automatic spending cuts scheduled to take effect March 1 would devastate American priorities, including research. The President supports a balanced approach to achieving deficit reduction as outlined in the Simpson-Bowles Commission.
