About this image*

Researchers have shown that ranibizumab eye injections, often in combination with laser treatment, result in better vision than laser treatment alone for diabetes-associated swelling of the retina.

About this image: Fundus image of an eye with diabetic macular edema one year after being treated according to the study protocol. The eye shows fewer dots and blots of hemorrhage, less lipid, some light spots just to the left of the center of the retina representing areas where focal/grid laser had been applied.
