- Recommendations for Practice
- While the researchers did not conduct a process evaluation, several challenges to implementation were noted in interviews with clinicians and as a part of the outcome evaluation. When interviewed, clinicians noted that a poorly functioning patient computer database impaired successful transfer of information between the secure facility and Parole Outpatient Clinics. … (more)
- Suggestions for Future Research
- Given that little can be determined from a single study, additional research—and particularly studies that more directly evaluate the impact of pre-release assessment on recidivism—would be helpful in determining whether MHSCP or similar programs significantly impact participant outcomes.
