HSEB is responsible for the coordination, support, and conduct of research on the dissemination of effective cancer-related health services into community practice, including the study of demographic, social, economic, and health system factors as they relate to providing preventive, screening, diagnostic, treatment, and end-of-life services for cancer. This work is carried out through the development of data resources (e.g., linked SEER-Medicare data), survey instruments and other research resources. HSEB scientists work in small collaborative teams, including individuals from other units of NCI, NIH, and HHS, such as AHRQ, CDC, and CMS, to achieve these goals. HSEB consists of a professional level staff of eight scientists with additional administrative and research support staff. Obtain more information on the activities of HSEB.
