USPS and Be The match continue saving lives

New focus on specific donor pool

Delivering the Gift of Life

The U.S. Postal Service is the nation’s leading organization in increasing the national registry of potential marrow donors to help save lives.

“There is no greater gift one human being can give to another than the gift of life,” says Postmaster General Patrick Donahoe. “Our employees are continuing to make a tremendous difference in the lives of men, women and children who are in need of marrow transplants through their participation in the Delivering the Gift of Life campaign and Be The Match.”

Since 1997, the Postal Service has recruited more than 58,000 employees and members of their families to become donors through the campaign. More than 80 have become donors, helping critically ill patients.

The Postal Service has now aligned its efforts with Be The Match, focusing on individuals between the ages of 18 and 44.
