caBIG® Solutions

This section contains information and resources for individuals and organizations who want to learn more about specific capabilities, download useful data and applications, and access the resources and support needed to successfully conduct 21st century biomedical research.

Review Solutions

By Capability: Learn about community-generated capabilities for discovery research, biospecimen management, clinical research, medical imaging, and more.

By Profession: Learn more about community-driven capabilities and resources that relate to different professions such as cancer biologists, bioinformaticians, and clinical researchers.

Solve Research Problems

Access and Download Applications: Review individual application pages to learn more, get started, and see how others have used community-generated capabilities to solve their research problems.

Conduct Research: Access portals that allow you to conduct research such as correlating genomic and expression data with clinical outcomes from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), Therapeutically Applicable Research to Generate Effective Treatment (TARGET), Repository for Molecular Brain Neoplasia Data (REMBRANDT), and other projects.

Connect Data and Tools: Learn about resources that help create, aggregate, and manage research data; facilitate data sharing and mapping; and support clinical trials data submission.

Search Databases: Access and search these databases for protein sequences, genome annotations, signaling pathways, and models for human cancer.

View and Download Data: Get access to more than 4.4M publicly available medical images; nearly 550,000 SNPs for prostate and breast cancer; 16,000+ gene expression data arrays; ~7,000 annotated human genes; and 430 signaling pathways.

Achieve Interoperability

Address Data Sharing and Security Issues: Look here for information on how to facilitate appropriate data sharing between and among organizations by addressing legal, regulatory, policy, ethical, proprietary, contractual, and socio-cultural barriers.

Enable Secure Data Access and Sharing: Learn more about the main infrastructure resources, caGrid and caCORE, and how a variety of pathways enable secure data access and sharing.

Access and Use Standards and Vocabularies: Review this page for more information on vocabularies and ontologies like BiomedGT and LexEVS, which support integration throughout the system.

Get Support
