Additions and Enhancements

Update to 1/1/2004 - The research and data for  all Alcohol Control Systems policy topics in the APIS Policy Topics section were updated to include legislative and regulatory changes in effect on or before January 1, 2004.         

Extension back to 1/1/1998 - The research and data for all Alcohol Control Systems policy topics were extended back to January 1, 1998.

Feedback Form - A Feedback Form was added for providing comments and suggestions regarding this Web site.

Maps and Charts Summary - A Maps and Charts overview was added to provide a centralized display of maps and charts for each policy topic with links to policy descriptions and full-size maps and charts.

In the comparison tables for all Alcohol Control Systems policy topics, rows were added to indicate the Overall Distribution System for each jurisdiction and a classification scheme was established to categorize each jurisdiction as State-Run, Mixed/Not Overlapping, Mixed/Overlapping, or License.

The maps for Alcohol Control Systems were modified to present data specific to wholesale or retail sales for each beverage type rather than a single map for all six Alcohol Control Systems policy topics.       

The colors of rows in the comparison tables were changed to alternate by jurisdiction rather than every other row.

Corrections and Clarifications

The words "Operators of Noncommercial Automobiles, Trucks, and Motorcycles" were changed to "Motor Vehicles" for two Blood Alcohol Concentration policy topics: Adult Operators of Noncommercial Motor Vehicles and Youth (Underage Operators of Noncommercial Motor Vehicles).

In the course of updating Alcohol Control Systems to 1/1/2004, modifications were made to some relevant text excerpts for prior years to increase uniformity of the excerpts on APIS, and some supporting citations were added or deleted for prior years to ensure accuracy and completeness and to remove irrelevant references.  In addition, several Alcohol Content Range figures were changed from "0.50%N" to "0.00%N" in the interest of consistency when the low end of the range is not specified.

A number of corrections to the Alcohol Control Systems records were discovered in the course of updating these policy topics.  Many of the specific changes listed below involve corrections regarding the alcohol content figure used for the high or low end of the Alcohol Content Range variables.  In addition, rows mistakenly omitted from the comparison tables have been added to the beer tables for Mississippi and North Carolina.
