Additions and Enhancements

Underage Topics Added - Six new policy topics have been added to the APIS Policy Topics section describing various policies affecting youth access to alcoholic beverages. The specific topics are:

Underage Possession of Alcohol

Underage Consumption of Alcohol

Underage Purchase of Alcohol

Furnishing Alcohol to Minors

Minimum Ages for On-Premises Servers and Bartenders

Minimum Ages for Off-Premises Sellers

Legal Significance of Prenatal Alcohol Exposure for Child Welfare Proceedings - A new policy topic has been added to the Alcohol and Pregnancy section addressing the legal significance of a woman's conduct prior to birth of a child and of damage caused in utero. The new policy topic is available at Alcohol and Pregnancy: Legal Significance for Child Abuse/Child Neglect

Historical Data Added for Vehicle Insurance Exclusion - The date range for the Vehicular Insurance: Losses due to Intoxication policy topic was extended to encompass January 1, 1998 through January 1, 2003 instead of only January 1, 2003. Our research shows that there have been no changes that pertain to this policy topic during this period.

New Timeline View Highlights Policy Changes - APIS now provides a  timeline view  to facilitate the analysis of policy changes over time. The timeline view is currently available for the Blood Alcohol Concentration Limits policy topics: Adult, Youth, and Recreational Watercraft. Future updates will provide the timeline view for additional policy topics.

More States Added to 2003 Enacted Bills and Adopted Regulations section - In the Enacted Bills and Adopted Regulations section, enacted bills have been added through the end of the 2003 regular legislative session for the following jurisdictions: California, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, South Carolina,Wyoming, and the United States (i.e., Federal bills). Enacted bills for 2003 are now available for all jurisdictions except the District of Columbia, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin.
