Staff Contacts

Description

This program supports the research and development of new enabling technologies for the fabrication and use of nanoscale components and systems in diagnostic and therapeutic applications. Examples include: development of new nanoscale patterning and manipulation systems; new approaches to the sensing and quantification of biologically important molecules using nanoscale specific properties; studies relating to the safety and commercialization of nanotechnology-enabled biomedical products.

Relevant Study Sections

Biomaterials and Biointerfaces (BMBI)
Enabling Bioanalytical and Biophysical Technologies (EBT)
Instrumentation and Systems Development (ISD)

Please note: as nanotechnology-related projects cross-cut so many areas, applicants are also encouraged to become familiar with potential study sections that may be relevant to their particular areas of research by browsing the CSR Index.

Program staff recommend that principal investigators include a cover letter listing areas of scientific expertise needed to review the application and how the expertise should be balanced (please do not include names), or potential study section assignments. Questions may be directed to the program director mentioned above.
