State Government Finances provides a comprehensive summary of annual survey findings for state governments. The tables and data files present the following details:
- Revenue, by source of revenue
- Expenditure, by object and function of expenditure
- Indebtedness, by long-term or short-term debt, and
- Asset, by purpose and type of asset

- Flat Data File [TXT, 460KB] – Detailed item data for each of the 50 state governments (file layout).
- Lottery Table [PDF, 109KB] – Income and apportionment of state administered lottery funds.
Release Schedule
Summer 2013: Scheduled release of revised data for the 2011 Annual Survey of State Government Finances. This data release is in conjunction with the initial release of the 2011 State and Local Finance data.
Winter 2013: New release of preliminary data for fiscal year 2012.
