  • Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2010
    The Dietary Guidelines for Americans provides evidence-based nutrition information and advice for people age 2 and older. They serve as the basis for Federal food and nutrition education programs. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture have jointly published the Dietary Guidelines for Americans every 5 years since 1980.
  • Health Communication, Health Literacy, and e-Health
    Improving health communication and utilizing health technologies are essential to promoting individual and population health. ODPHP has pulled together key tools, research and reports, and resources for public health and health communication professionals.

    This consumer-focused site provides easy-to-understand information, tips, and tools for staying healthy.
  • Healthy People 2020
    Healthy People 2020 provides 10-year national health objectives in more than 40 topic areas. The Web site features tools, resources, and opportunities to get involved.
  • Healthy People 2020 Health Communication and Health Information Technology Topic Area
    Healthy People sets science-based, 10-year national objectives for improving the use, quality, and accessibility of health communication and health IT.
  • National Health Information Center (NHIC)
    NHIC is a health information referral service. NHIC puts health professionals and consumers who have health questions in touch with those organizations that are best able to provide answers.
  • Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans
    For the first time, the Federal Government has issued the Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans, which describe the types and amounts of physical activity that offer substantial health benefits to Americans.
